          The double pitched roof, the windows set deep in stone, the natural stone of the wall show Van Bergen's skill at the synthesis of various styles, textures and elements.  Unfortunately the added texture of a wood shingled roof has been lost.
          Laura Stoddard was an artist.  The room over the garage was an artist's studio.
