Dr. Owre furniture
Desk and bookcase for Dr. Owre's study on second floor. Sounds simple enough, but it will be 1934 before such things begin to appear in the architectural press. This room was satisfying to begin with, but installing this furniture made a very organic and complete ensemble - sort of a 'stateroom' on shore. The John S. Bradstreet Co. built the stuff and did a beautiful job of cabinet work. (Note: check dictionary drawer description back to house account.)
