The design for this commission converted the existing walls and roof of a barn into a small residence with an open floor plan.  Purcell noted that the conceptual exercise required to complete this job remained influential in his later work, even if the Craftsman-like furnishings and fittings of the house seemed dated just a couple of decades later.
